Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What languages do you speak?
Paruth is fluent in Khmer and speaks good English.  She is also in the process of learning French!

If I make something, can I take my work with me?
Your work will need to dry and be fired before it can go home with you.  We will take care of this and are happy to ship the finished work to your hotel or to your home. Let us know where you'd like it sent and we will collect the necessary shipping costs from you at that time.

What if my work breaks?
It is possible that your piece may break during the firing process, which normally takes around 2 weeks to complete.  If this happens, we will send you one of our beautiful works as a replacement.  While not the same as the piece you created, it will still be a beautiful reminder of the time you spent visiting Angkor Pottery Center!

What can I do to reduce the risk of damage to my work during the firing process?
To reduce the risk of your work breaking, we limit the size of your piece to no more than 400 grams (1lb) of clay.  We also ask that you avoid adding handles or thin parts to your work.  Your instructor will guide you during your workshop with other suggestions that will increase the chances of your work being successful.

What currency do you use when pricing your items?
Cambodia has its own currency (the Riel) but all of our items are priced in the United States Dollar.  As of November, 2011, 1 USD (United States Dollar) = approximately 4,035 KHR (Cambodian Riel).  For current exchange rates, visit THIS website.

What if I have other questions?
We are always happy to talk with you!  Just contact us and we will be more than happy to answer all of your questions as clearly as possible.
